Preapocaliptic Science Fiction
Megalomaniacs and Gigantophobs, Volume 96, 2024
Technological progress – such as of the Artificial Intelligence – is already beyond human control (perhaps it could never have been slowed down). Society – actually the beneficiary and driver of AI – is increasingly dissatisfied with it and some are deliberately stoking existing fears. Of course, selfish (mostly financial, sometimes power-driven) interests are trying to abuse the uncontrollability and bake their own bread – and sometimes it turns into a big loaf, too big, with unforeseeable consequences.
