Medical science has long since outgrown the limits of healing. Since our civilization has been able to afford it, we have been using it for beauty care, to eliminate and delay the effects of aging or even to change sex. Why couldn’t we fulfill other wishes with their help, such as stronger muscles, higher intelligence etc.? What is the difference between a macro and a micro surgical procedure? If an expectant mother can choose between life and death for her fetus, why shouldn’t she be allowed to improve its genes?
