Megalomaniacs and Gigantophobs, Volume 58, 2021
Ring worlds (inhabitable artificial celestial bodies in the shape of a ring around a star) belong to the most imaginative science fiction inventions. Life on them in a very-very distant future has been described in an original and creative way, but pondering about their possible construction technology is mostly left to the reader. Now this gap has been filled in a technically and scientifically (long-term) conceivable way. Then there is a second project, this time less technical and scientific but more economical, even ecological. But why can't it be accomplished? Or does the third turn out that it could?
