At some point, humanity will begin to swarm out of the solar system. Of course, there are still many technical problems to solve before then, such as organizing the life of the emigrant swarm over many generations: millions of people are involved. This will probably only be possible with the late successors to today's artificial intelligences. The only question is whether humans can tolerate such power over themselves.
